Our Story

Fox Trail Academy grew from years of working with children who learn differently—and from listening to families searching for educational options that truly fit their children.

Before creating Fox Trail Academy, Diane Andrew and the Orange Fox ABA team worked closely with families and schools to help students receive medically necessary ABA services during the school day. This work showed us what is possible when educators, behavior analysts, and families collaborate. It also revealed how difficult it can be to maintain that support when school policies, classroom demands, and service systems do not align.

When access to school-based ABA became increasingly limited, some families were left feeling that they had to choose between education and medically necessary treatment. Fox Trail Academy grew from a desire to offer another path: a small, flexible homeschool support program where individualized learning and therapeutic services can remain separate while working together around the needs of the child.

Diane Andrew, M.Ed., BCBA, Founder and Program Director

Diane is a Colorado-licensed special education teacher, Board Certified Behavior Analyst, and founder of Orange Fox ABA and Fox Trail Academy. Her journey began after her son was diagnosed with autism at age two. That experience led her into special education and behavior analysis and continues to shape her commitment to creating environments where children are understood, supported, and given meaningful opportunities to succeed.

With more than a decade of experience supporting children with diverse educational and developmental needs, Diane guides Fox Trail Academy’s individualized approach and works closely with families to ensure each student’s learning plan reflects their strengths, needs, and goals.

Matthew Huffman, Lead Teacher

Matthew Huffman serves as Fox Trail Academy’s Lead Teacher and provides the consistency, structure, and daily guidance at the heart of our program. He leads teacher-guided instruction, supports students individually and in small groups, and adjusts lessons to help each learner participate, make progress, and build confidence.

Together, Diane and Matthew create a learning environment that combines thoughtful instruction, flexibility, and a genuine understanding that children do not all learn in the same way—or on the same timeline.
